Template – needs your details before launch. Fill in the trading address and, if you are a limited company, your registered company number. Have it read over by someone qualified before you publish. This is a sensible starting point, not legal advice.

- Email: info@webuildweb.site
- Phone: +44 786 1468888
- Trading address: [ADD YOUR ADDRESS]
- Company number, if applicable: [ADD IF REGISTERED]
We are the data controller for the information described on this page.
What information we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and do the work you have asked for:
- Details you give us - your name, business name, email address, phone number and anything you write in an enquiry form or email
- Project material - photos, videos, product lists, logos and text you send us so we can build or edit something for you
- Website usage - basic, anonymous information about how people use this site, such as which pages get visited
We do not ask for or store card details. If you pay us by card, that is handled by a payment provider and the card number never reaches us.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry - because you asked us to (consent), or to take steps at your request before entering a contract
- To carry out work you have hired us for - to perform our contract with you
- To keep records of quotes, invoices and payments - to meet our legal obligations, including tax law
- To keep this website working and secure - our legitimate interest in running the business properly
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing. We share it only with the services we need to run the business, such as our email provider, our website hosting company, and our accounting software. Each of them handles data on our instructions.
If a supplier stores data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law are in place.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become work: up to 12 months, then deleted
- Customer records, quotes and invoices: 7 years, because tax rules require it
- Project files such as photos and videos: for the length of the project and 12 months afterwards, unless you ask us to remove them sooner
Cookies
This website uses only what is needed to make the pages work. If we later add analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent first and give you a way to refuse them without losing access to the site.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Ask us to delete your data, where we have no legal reason to keep it
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- Ask us to transfer your data to someone else
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is what we relied on
To exercise any of these, email info@webuildweb.site. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Keeping your data safe
We use reputable providers, keep accounts protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication, and limit access to your information to the people who need it to do the work.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes affecting current customers will be communicated directly.
