We Build Web exists for one reason: brilliant small businesses are losing work to worse competitors, simply because they are not online and do not know where to start.
Started because too many good tradespeople were invisible
Ask around any trade and you will hear the same thing. The best builder on the street has no website. The body shop everyone recommends cannot be found on Google. The landscaper with twenty years of stunning work has it all sat in a camera roll nobody sees.
It is almost never because they do not care. It is because the whole thing sounds like a job needing a spare fortnight and a technical mind to even begin.
Meanwhile a newer, cheaper competitor with a tidy website and a few social posts takes the enquiries. Not because they are better – because they turn up when somebody searches.
We started We Build Web to close that gap. We handle everything technical so you can carry on doing what you are actually good at.
In practice that means we write the words rather than sending you a blank template to fill in, because the writing is where most website projects quietly die. It means we sort your photographs out instead of asking you to supply “professional images”. And it means the first thing we ask about is your customers and the area you cover, not your favourite colour.
Plain English, always
If we ever use a word you do not understand, tell us and we will stop. You should never feel stupid talking to the people building your website. Domains, hosting, SEO – none of it is your job to learn, and we will not pretend it is complicated to make the bill look bigger.
The price we say
You get a fixed price in writing before a single thing is built. No hourly creep, no surprise invoice at the end. If the job turns out smaller than we expected you pay less, not more – and if you ask for something extra along the way, we tell you what it costs before we do it.
You own everything
Your domain, your website, your accounts, all in your name. You get the logins, and if you ever decide to take the site elsewhere you can walk away with it. We would rather keep customers because they are happy than because they are stuck.
A real person answers
You get one person who knows your business, not a ticket number. Ring the mobile and you will speak to somebody who can actually help. No portal, no support queue, and nobody who has to go and read your file before answering a simple question.
We do not hand you the keys and disappear
Plenty of agencies will build a website, email you a login and leave you to it. Six months later nothing has been updated, because nobody knows how, and the site slowly stops reflecting the business it is supposed to represent.
We stay involved. We write the words, fix up your photos, set up your Google listing, and can keep posting to your social media every week. We also show you how it all works, in person, at your pace.
If you would rather never touch it again, that is completely fine – send us a message and we will make the change. If you would rather do it yourself, we will show you how. Neither answer costs you more.
We are not right for everybody
We are a good fit if you run a small business or work a trade, you have not got a website or the one you have is doing nothing for you, and you would rather hand the whole thing over than learn it. Most of our customers came to us with photos on a phone and no idea what a domain name is. That is normal, and it is not a problem.
We are probably not the right choice if you want a large bespoke design project, a brand built from scratch, or an agency team on a monthly retainer. There are firms who do that properly and they will do it better than us. What we do is build straightforward, fast websites that get small businesses found and make it easy for somebody to pick up the phone.

We work with small businesses right across the United Kingdom. Everything happens by phone, email and video call, so where you are makes no difference to the job or the price. You are not charged extra for being further away, and nothing about the process changes.
